Islamic Academic Ethics Statement

In addition to adhering to internationally recognized publication ethics established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Nurul Ummah: Jurnal Studi Islam upholds the ethical values of Islamic scholarship (akhlaq al-'ilm) as the moral foundation of academic publishing.

The journal believes that scientific inquiry is not merely an intellectual endeavor but also a form of responsibility (amanah) before society and Allah SWT. Therefore, every participant in the publication process is expected to maintain integrity, honesty, fairness, and accountability in accordance with both universal academic standards and Islamic ethical principles.

The journal promotes the following values:

Ṣidq (Honesty)

Authors, reviewers, and editors must uphold truthfulness in every stage of research and publication.

Research findings should be reported honestly without fabrication, falsification, selective reporting, or manipulation of data.

"O you who believe! Fear Allah and be with those who are truthful."

(Qur'an 9:119)

Amānah (Trustworthiness)

Scholarly work is a trust that must be fulfilled responsibly.

Authors should ensure the originality and authenticity of their work, while editors and reviewers must carry out their responsibilities professionally and confidentially.

'Adl (Justice)

Editorial decisions and peer review must be conducted fairly, objectively, and without discrimination.

Manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit regardless of the author's background, nationality, institutional affiliation, gender, or religious denomination.

Tabayyun (Verification)

The journal emphasizes careful verification of information before publication.

Editors and reviewers are expected to critically examine submitted manuscripts to ensure the accuracy, credibility, and reliability of published knowledge.

Iḥsān (Excellence)

Maslaḥah (Public Benefit)
